Associate Director
Dr. Fernandes is an educator, counselor, and scientist. Currently, she is an associate director at the play2PREVENT Lab of the Yale Center for Health & Learning Games. The Lab focuses on designing, developing, and evaluating novel videogame interventions that promote healthy behaviors. With over 15 years of experience working with adolescents and young adults, she decided to "meet them where they are at" by using videogame interventions to change behaviors. More recently, the Lab received funding from NIH/NIDA to develop a videogame intervention that addresses the opioid crisis. Her favorite videogame is Tetris!
