How can we expect kids to understand the perspectives of 18th Century rebels when we can’t even talk across party lines today? A year of live-action role-playing with high school students around the country suggests kids are eager to engage with tough moral perspectives and that historical thinking provides a pathway that can lead to engagement with modern civic issues and diverse perspectives.
