XR is increasingly being applied to emergency management and disaster preparedness, providing a realistic and safe space to prepare for crises and practice how to respond. Applications of XR range widely in disaster preparedness, but the key is harnessing benefits of XR to improve learning outcomes and retain life-saving information. This session presents the current landscape and shortcomings of school based disaster risk reduction (SBDRR) and discusses how XR has the potential to address these.
